In general, the Club is open for lunch from Thursday through Sunday from March through mid-December, and adds lunch on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from May through October. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, dinner is generally served from Thursday through Sunday, with Wednesday added in July and August. During the rest of-the year, dinner is normally served on one Friday or Saturday night each weekend, depending on the special events calendar. Metropolis is a sought after venue for outings, private parties and life-cycle events. However, during the June through September “high season,” we significantly limit the number of private parties held on weekends and only allow weekend parties for members during the high season.
We believe that we have an absolutely top notch team of professionals leading the way, starting with our General Manager, Steven Bielsky. He manages seven separate buildings and two pools, manages a staff of 130, and oversees nearly 40 events annually, and he does all of it with a smile and deep concern for the happiness of each member. Finally, our Clubhouse Manager, Daniel Lagarde, greets each member at the door and is dedicated to assuring the membership's dining needs, large or small, are met promptly and properly.
With a cross-spectrum of membership in terms of ages and dining/entertainment preferences, we strive each year to develop a calendar of events that represents a balance between maintaining traditional Metropolis favorites while introducing innovative new dining and entertainment programming. We are particularly proud of our wine list, which is comparable in scope (but far better priced!) to many top restaurants, as well as our well-crafted list of micro brewed and artisanal beers. In response to the requests of many of our members, Metropolis affords members the opportunity to bring their own wines to the club for a modest corkage charge.
