enjoy your time with us!
Metropolis sits in White Plains, New York, just off I-287 and within a
few minutes’ drive of all major Westchester Parkways, making us especially
accessible from New York City and convenient to all of Westchester. Our club features a championship quality
course, excellent practice facilities, outstanding racquet sports options, a
new swimming complex and first-tier food and beverage program.
When you enter our driveway, please drive up to the clubhouse to drop
off your clubs in the area marked around our circular driveway. Valet parking is generally available Fridays
– Sundays and all holidays. On other
days, our valet shuttle is available to bring you from your car back up to the
clubhouse.
Mens’ and womens’ locker rooms are on our lower level, just down the
stairs on your right as you enter the club.
Our front entrance attendants will happily guide you. Most often, there will already be a locker
waiting for you so just ask the locker room attendant when you arrive. You can head straight out to our practice
facilities and pool area from the locker rooms; head back upstairs to walk over
to our tennis courts. Our main floor
contains our bar room, lounge, dining room and access out to our beautiful
terrace so head there if you are meeting one of our members for a meal or
drinks.
As the times have changed so have our dress codes, which now
can best be described as “common sense”.
Our primary dress code would be generically viewed as “smart casual”; if
you would wear it to a restaurant you can likely wear it for dinner at
Metropolis. Golf or tennis attire is
fine at lunch (as it is for Sunday barbeques) and we ask that you confirm with
your host the specific dress code for dinner, which is always comfortable but
does vary from evening to evening We do
ask that pool attire remain by the pool and that cover-ups are worn going to
and from the pool area, that appropriate golf attire (soft spikes, collared or
banded collar shirts tucked in, golf/walking shorts, and hats worn with bill
facing forward) should be worn on the course, and that proper tennis attire and
tennis sneakers be worn on our courts.
Cell phones in silent mode are permitted throughout the
Club and may be used for text messaging, e-mailing and internet access. Phone calls are permitted in our locker rooms
and in our parking lot but otherwise discouraged on the course, the terrace and
in-and-around the clubhouse. We
understand however that urgent matters can come up, so if you find you must take or
make a cellphone call and are not able to do so in the locker rooms, we ask
that you move away from our social areas to an unoccupied area, make the call
brief and be mindful not to disturb our members or other guests.
