Metropolis offers families two heated swimming pools, a larger pool with an oft used lap lane, and a wading/kiddie pool.
In keeping with our focus on the future, in
2022 Metropolis opened its new $3 million pool complex. Located behind
the clubhouse, this area features a full-sized L-shaped “wade in” pool with
diving board, lockers, showers, changing rooms, snack bar and adult lounge
area. In designing the new complex we placed specific priority on the
needs of our younger families, providing for a separate kiddie pool adjacent to
the shallow end of our main pool, as well as both indoor and outdoor play
areas. The pool complex serves as a center of activity for our many younger
members and children, a welcome setting for post tennis and golf recuperation,
and a restful area to kick back and read a book or simply catch up with
friends. The pools are open Friday through Sunday from Memorial Day through
Labor Day, adding Tuesday through Thursday starting the week of Father's Day.
Our locally staffed group of lifeguards are both superbly trained and
engaging. They are regularly, actively involved with our children when not
on formal pool duty.
